A message from the owner of Cranberry Park

My energies are being directed (hopefully in a balanced, disciplined way), toward a new way of being in the world. I do this to honour my own knowing, and my personal interest in a sustainable future for Cranberry Park.

It is an extension of my work to provide an opportunity for campers with environmental conscience an alternate way of being. It is a way that considers healthy environment and lifestyle in a community that shares commonality of place and an interest in practicing sustainable earth principles.

- Sandy Layng - 2003

Introduction

How we relate to the land and other people and living things determines the health of all. The steward recognizes that management of self regulating personal and planetary natural systems will facilitate the evolution of healthy balanced relationships and lifestyles.

The Woods and the Eco-Trail

The Eco-Project has already begun with preserving Cranberry Woods and the development of our self-guided Eco-Trail. More information about the Woods and Eco-Trail are available at The Woods & Eco-Trail

Proposed Ecological Experience Resort

Objectives

To develop an eco-resort that will reduce the impact human activities have on the environment.

We must tread lightly, go slowly, live mindfully and to always replace, return, recycle or repair what we have used in equal measure

We will live simply, joyfully in harmony with nature and with each other and with reverence for life.

Cranberry Park Eco-Development project will display and offer a learning opportunity for those interested in new technologies that support the use of solar and wind power, alternate building materials, planet friendly systems and method and a variety of non toxic earth products.

Camper Stewardship

Demands are near where we will require more energy consumption than anyone can afford nor capacity of the planet to give.  Awareness of the problems have begun to be addressed by community groups and the media regarding: deforestation, global warming, polluted ground water, lost biodiversity.

With this awareness, we must act.

We need to use our knowledge to immediately stop harmful practices and to allow systems that direct us toward a sustainable future. Being true campers we have an environmental consciousness that needs to be fully shared and acted upon.

Thank you for your stewardship.

We want to provide a low impact alternative for campers
with an environmental conscience and an interest in
practicing sustainable earth principles.
